GIC Global Scholarship Application

GIC Singapore, a top investment company in Singapore, seeks top Taylor’s A Level students who are interested in fund management as a career. They recruit globally, in many universities in US and UK. They also reach out to schools in China, Hong Kong and Malaysia. To date, they have 8 scholars who studied at Taylor's. Their performances in universities and at work are good. This is very encouraging and they hope to continue to work with us to offer the GIC Global Scholarship to our students. Students are to submit their CVs to GIC by 24 July 2009 through Taylor’s. Shortlisted candidates are likely to be invited for interviews in mid-August 2009. The application forms are available in the CAL Programme in the School of Pre-U. It is also attached for your perusal.

Charity Carnival

Hi guys, for those who read this post, please invest some time tonight to think of what to do for the charity carnival. For those who didn't attend Mr. Karamjeet's class, Mr. K mentioned that it is not advisable for us to sell food and beverages as it is too popular among the other classes.

What I have in mind are basically GAMES. Well, I'm not the only PE2-ian alive so I would like to hear from all of you on your opinions, suggestions, refutations, complaints..EVERYTHING!

Hola. I'm here to blog again.
It's been 10 days since 24th June.
The day we spent our first day on the beautiful island of Stop Point aka Perhentian.
We played a hell a lot of stuff, and truly represents the point of the trip.
Well, we'll never forget to pull the trigger too (:

Post-Day 1 moments
Once we checked in, we were quite saddened by the fact that our room was not exactly facing towards the magnificent view of the sea. With the fact that the main generator of the resort was just right below our rooms, it really adds oil to fire. It's pretty noisy. The room design was not that bad either, it has 2 queen size bed plus an air con which we abused. Why? We switched it on since the very first minute we enter the room till the seconds we left the room and never switched it off. Perhaps, the most awesome part of the room was the bathroom. Everything inside was decent and clean and equipped with a window which tall people can peek in.




Our room would looks like this. But in actual fact, it should be more messy.




We saw this mini Komodo Dragon lurking around the bushes just below and few feet from our resort.

Next, while waiting for the commencement of our first snorkeling trip at a certain time. It's CHOU Big Di time and some magical moments from our magician Lau.


Whose the camera man?




Magician Lau was trying to deceive me with his tricks. But it never works. Muahaha.


First, he told me to select a card randomly from the deck. I chosen this card, without him knowing.


Secondly, he did some mumbling with the cards. And told me whether my card was the card that he's revealing.


Thirdly, he asked me again.


It's still not the card i had selected! What a lousy magician.


Finally, potong stim-ed. The fourth card and it's still not my card. It was then he realized that he did some mistakes some where.


A handsome of concrete evidences who had contracted the male cam-whore disease.



If you noticed for some time, Cam-whore-ers are always in search for mirrors.

After that, we went for our first snorkeling trip with our fully sun blocked body. If i'm not mistaken, we went to the Coral View site. It's located near the resort. We had all in the same time experience bad times and good times while snorkeling. The bad times is when sea water gets into your eyes or perhaps accidentally swallow a gulp of sea water. Most of us had problems with our googgles and breathing tube. The great thing is that i had touched a real and alive sea cucumber. It's outer flesh is so smooth and slimy and dark in color. It feels like a snake. Lay Wing and Shu Yih was so afraid and swam away fast when i tried to provoke them with the black cucumber.

We noticed that the majority of the corals are gone or dead. What's left is literally a graveyard of corals. I hardly see any green on the sea bed, only with some intimidated fishes swimming around searching for algae around the stones and rocks. It's so different from life on land. Needless to say, marine life is incredible to watch.

After snorkeling, we returned to our base and had a tea break followed with a big supper. Our proceeding activity is the SunSet Discovery, which means to discover the sun set. We followed a group of people in to the jungle and trekked all the way to the other side of the small island. We arrived at an edge of a cliff with the sea just right below us. ( I don't know what is it called) As expected, the sun was setting just right in front of us. It was a breathtaking view. The reflection of the sun rays on the surface on the sea was illuminated with bright yellowish light. The horizon appeared as if there's an edge at the ocean. Well, we managed to spend some emo moments together around the cliff before heading back to base.


We had our delicate dinner straight away once we returned.



We had something illegal this time, i e, $$.


It's show time! I had a rule. Whoever turns out to win the most will have to pay most of the bill when we're having a drink at the bar later.



He's always with his own virtual world.



The money grows and so was our excitement. Our over-excited Lay Wing got "tiang-ed" a couple of times when we're playing in-between. As a result, our deposited money grew and exceeded more than Rm60.


Damm! This lucky bastard won the whole stack of money.


And so, with enough adrenaline rushing in our blood with those intense excitements. We left our room like real men, went to the bar, sat down and ordered alcoholic drinks.

Hurray! i lost Rm25!


Trust me, i won't get drunk. I'm a strong man!


Probably the most expensive Yum Cha outing that i had ever had!


Left: Illusion - This drink has the strongest alcoholic taste among the other three. It tastes sour and sweet like Margarita. My drink.
Middle: Bloody Mary - This drink consists of tabasco sauce , tomato sauce , salary and some other weird stuff. If you noticed, the white color stuff around the tip of the glass is actually salt. It taste very much like tomato sauce with intense spice plus salty. Lay Wing's drink.
Right: Mai Thai - Original fruit taste with foam inside. Not very alcoholic. Taste like watermelon or honey dew. Wei Kuang's drink.
Each glass cost a whopping of Rm25.


My love, i'm drinking because of you.

Look up again at the pictures when Lay Wing was normal and compare. His appearance was so red and blur. Laugh out Loud!

We had our own supper outside the beach. We lied down on the bench and gazed at the stars above us.
